Jess Nora (they/them, ze/zir) is a disabled, queer, Jewish art activist based in New England. They received their BFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts with a focus in Sculpture from University of the Arts in May 2016 and an MA in mental health counseling and art therapy from Lesley University in May 2018. Ze also studied abroad at Studio Art Center International in Florence where ze had the opportunity to work in Carrara White Marble and develop zir love for carving.  Jessica Nora uses their work to get a conversation going, often about their lived experience with invisible illnesses and trauma. Reflecting on lived experience in a world not set up for disabled folks greatly influences their work in the activism world. Jessica has worked in disability activism for 8 years and works with a variety of other activism fields as well, including immigration rights and supporting anti-racism activism. This activism and Jess’s art go hand-in-hand, one often reflecting experiences found from the other.
